Procurement Team Lead (Direct Spending)

You will be a key member in the Direct Spend team, responsible for leading a team of Purchasers and Buyers in procuring chemical raw materials intended for pharmaceutical production. Key to the position is experience in an industrial procurement environment, understanding of the chemicals industry and strong negotiation skills.
This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to take a first step into team management, or to translate previous experience in a larger, more international environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the assigned team and resources in an effective manner
• Define budgeting and costing requirements
• Plan and implement purchasing strategies
• Conduct necessary contract and price negotiations
• Initiate and drive cost-saving projects
• Collaboration with key internal departments such as Quality, Manufacturing, Clinical Operations
• Work alongside external stakeholders and partners to ensure continuous supply of necessary materials
• Participate in global category projects

Requirements

• Technical education in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience within Procurement in an industrial setting
• Strong technical understanding of chemicals
• Strong communication skills
• Extensive experience in conducting professional negotiations
• Collaborative approach and proactive attitude
• Occasional travel across EU
• Fluent English and German language skills (minimum B2)
