We are seeking an experienced and strategic CAPEX Project lead for a state-of-the-art Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role is critical to the successful delivery of a complex, multi-phase capital project, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end execution of the brownfield CAPEX project, from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Quality, EHS, Regulatory, Finance) and external partners (EPCM firms, contractors, suppliers) to ensure project alignment and success.
Budget & Schedule Control: Manage the full project budget (~£250 million), ensuring cost control, risk mitigation, and timely delivery against milestones.
Engineering Oversight: Oversee design and engineering activities, ensuring GMP compliance, scalability, and integration with existing infrastructure.
Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional project team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to executive leadership, including progress reports, financial tracking, and risk assessments.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven track record of delivering large-scale CAPEX projects (£100M+) in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory requirements, and engineering standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field; advanced degree or PMP/Prince2 certification is a plus.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience with brownfield site development, including integration with existing operations and infrastructure.
