Head of Automation

Join a leading-edge manufacturing site as the Head of Automation, where you'll guide a high-performing team in driving digital transformation and automation excellence. This role is pivotal to the site’s strategic direction and offers high visibility across the global operations network.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of global automation frameworks while tailoring site-specific solutions that align with operational goals.
Design and manage automation projects from concept to commissioning, including the creation of URS, FRS, and validation documentation.
Champion innovation by introducing strategic initiatives, industry best practices, and emerging technologies in automation and digitalization.
Develop and validate automated data management workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee the development and maintenance of business intelligence systems and their supporting infrastructure.
Optimize, standardize, and upgrade existing automation and process control systems.
Ensure system reliability and streamlined process flows across all automation platforms.
Manage cybersecurity protocols, access control, and disaster recovery strategies for industrial automation environments.

Your Profile:
Demonstrated success in delivering automation and digital projects such as MES, AGV, Track & Trace, equipment integration, computer vision, ETL pipelines, and BI system deployment.
Degree in automation, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong background in electrical and automation engineering, with hands-on experience in PLCs, SCADA, and virtualized network environments.
Proficient in programming languages like Python and SQL, with a solid grasp of data analytics and statistical methods.
Skilled in project management, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
Experience in building and managing automation teams and departmental structures.
Strong leadership qualities, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
Fluent in English required, Fluent in German would be a huge advantage.

This role reports directly to the Site Engineering Lead.
It's a site based opportunity.
