Head of Engineering

Discover has partnered with a top-10 global pharmaceutical company on an exclusive search, looking for a driven, passionate Engineering Leader for a large-scale solid dosage manufacturing site in Germany. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure plant reliability, managing a significant CAPEX budget, and leading a large team. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking professional with a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry and a passion for automation and digitalization.

Key Responsibilities:
Direct and indirect leadership of a large technical team.
Develop and implement strategic plans to maintain and improve the reliability of all plant facilities and utilities.
Efficiently manage the budget for the technical organization and the site's capital expenditure plan.
Ensure that all maintenance practices, technical standards, and quality management protocols are strictly followed.
Coordinate and oversee external contractors for construction and installation projects.
Maintain the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.

Required Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field.
10+ years of experience in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Extensive professional and leadership experience with both local and global teams.
Hands-on mentality in solving technical challenges during shutdown.
Proven ability to inspire and lead with ideas for automation and digitalization.
Deep understanding of various technical disciplines within the pharmaceutical industry.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
Strong financial acumen and business knowledge.
Fluent in English, proficiency in the German language would be beneficial.
