We are a supporting leading pharmaceutical company based near Stuttgart, dedicated to developing and manufacturing high-quality medicines that improve lives globally. Due to recent growth globally, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join the team and enhance our sourcing and supply chain capabilities.
Role Overview:
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and other critical raw materials required for pharmaceutical production. This role requires strong supplier management, negotiation skills, and industry knowledge to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers of APIs and other key raw materials.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure quality standards.
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and supply chain risks.
Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Production) to align procurement strategies with business needs.
Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Manage and optimize inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and supplier performance.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field.
Proven experience in procurement of APIs or other pharmaceutical raw materials.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards (GMP, GDP).
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Proficiency in procurement and ERP software.
Fluency in English is required, extra languages preferred
